In Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) it’s often advantageous for larger environments to create different views. Those who already works with the WSUS console know that this can take a bit longer.
So that this tedious work does not have to be repeated, for example if a colleague needs the same views, it can be easily exported via a small workaround.
Simply copy the following file and then paste it to the required user:
Important: The WSUS console must be closed during both export and import!
Tip: I already had the pleasure of seeing the WSUS file corrupted one day (probably due to an error of the MMC). Fortunately I was able to restore the file from the VM by a veeam backup. So it’s best to create a backup after defining the views!
Excellent!
